Hey, beautiful souls! Victoria here – your local wedding photographer from Stories by Victoria. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you some of the best summer wedding destinations that have not only inspired me but also captured the hearts of so many of my couples. Whether you’re dreaming of sun-dappled ceremonies, lush green backdrops, or gentle ocean breezes, these spots are sure to make your summer wedding feel like pure magic.
Summer weddings have a little extra sparkle, don’t they? The days are longer, the evenings are warmer, and there’s a kind of energy that just brings people together. Plus, you can’t beat the gorgeous natural light that summer brings! As a photographer, I’m all about that golden hour glow, and summer weddings offer the best opportunities to capture it.
Alright, so let’s explore some of my favorite summer wedding destinations!
I might be a little biased, but there’s just something so magical about a summer wedding in the Hudson Valley. The scenery is straight out of a painting – rolling hills, river views, and tons of lush greenery. What’s great about Hudson Valley is that it offers a range of options, from rustic barns to elegant estates.
If you’re looking for a classic, romantic vibe, check out Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa or Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Both are breathtaking and make you feel like you’re in your own little world. For something more relaxed, The Garrison has stunning mountain views and plenty of space for an outdoor ceremony.
Hudson Valley’s natural beauty truly shines in the summer. The vibrant green landscape, the sun setting over the river, and the wildflowers blooming everywhere add a special touch. And the weather? It’s warm but comfortable, with a gentle breeze to keep things cool enough for an outdoor wedding.

There’s a reason Newport is known for its luxurious summer vibes. This coastal destination is famous for its grand mansions, sparkling ocean views, and historical charm. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something elegant and timeless with a touch of sea breeze.
For a more upscale experience, The Chanler at Cliff Walk and Belle Mer offer spectacular views and a sense of luxury that’s hard to beat. If you’re into the idea of a seaside wedding, the Castle Hill Inn is an amazing spot with an incredible view of the Narragansett Bay.
Newport is all about the summer! You’ll have that perfect mix of warm sun and cool ocean breezes, and the blue waters create the ideal backdrop for some stunning photos. Plus, you and your guests can make a weekend of it, enjoying beach days and sunset sails.
If you’re after a more secluded, nature-inspired summer wedding, Lake Placid might be just what you’re looking for. Known for its stunning mountain views and tranquil lake, it’s an amazing choice for couples who want a peaceful, outdoor celebration.
Whiteface Lodge and Lake Placid Lodge are two of my personal favorites for weddings. They both offer cozy yet elegant vibes and make you feel like you’ve stepped into a mountain retreat. For a more intimate setting, consider the Mirror Lake Inn with its gorgeous views and warm, inviting ambiance.
Lake Placid is cooler than most summer destinations, thanks to its higher elevation, which means you won’t be sweating through your vows. The lake itself is absolutely stunning in the summer, reflecting the sky and the surrounding greenery. Plus, the Adirondack Mountains make for some pretty epic photo backdrops!
For those who love the beach but also want a dose of small-town charm, Cape May is an ideal choice. With its charming Victorian homes, pristine beaches, and laid-back vibe, Cape May has a certain nostalgia that makes a summer wedding feel extra special.
Congress Hall and The Southern Mansion are beautiful venues with unique character. If you’re after an outdoor beach ceremony, Cape May Beachfront has the ocean views to set the perfect scene.
Cape May’s beaches are bustling with life in the summer, which gives your wedding an upbeat, vibrant feel. The sunsets here are also out of this world, casting a warm, golden light over the ocean – a photographer’s dream! Plus, you get that salty sea air, which is so refreshing on a warm day.

The Finger Lakes region is another hidden gem for summer weddings. It’s all about wineries, lakeside views, and peaceful countryside, making it an amazing option for a laid-back but beautiful celebration.
Belhurst Castle and Glenora Wine Cellars are popular choices, offering beautiful settings and lots of photo opportunities. If you’re looking for something more rustic, Seneca Lake State Park is perfect for an intimate outdoor ceremony.
The Finger Lakes are absolutely stunning in the summer, with lush greenery and a calm lake backdrop. There’s also plenty for guests to do, from wine tastings to lake activities. And let’s not forget the sunsets – they’re truly magical, reflecting off the water and creating a dreamy atmosphere.
Each of these places has its own unique charm, but what they all share is an ability to create a stunning backdrop for a summer wedding. If you’re envisioning a day filled with natural light, lush greenery, and an easy-going vibe, any one of these destinations will be perfect. And don’t forget – wherever you decide to tie the knot, the most important part is that it reflects you and your partner’s personalities.
As a wedding photographer, capturing your love in a place that feels like you is what brings your wedding photos to life. So, choose a destination that resonates with you both, and the magic will follow.
If you’re looking for a photographer who knows these areas like the back of her hand, I’d love to chat! Summer weddings are some of my favorites, and I’m always up for a new adventure with amazing couples. Let’s create some beautiful memories together!
I hope this gave you a little inspiration and some ideas for your own summer wedding. Here’s to sun-filled celebrations, laughter, and all the love in the world. Happy planning!
